Inspired by Champions, Crowned at Wimbledon

Team Yonex's Linda Noskova (CZE) captured her first Wimbledon title on Saturday, becoming a first-time Grand Slam champion after an unforgettable run at the All England Club. 

At just 21, the Czech star realized   a dream that took shape while watching her country's Wimbledon champions as a child.

Facing fellow Czech Karolina Muchova in her first Grand Slam final, Noskova looked poised to seal the championship after racing to a 5-2 lead in the second set. But Muchova responded with five consecutive games to force a deciding set. 

Remaining composed under pressure, Noskova stayed true to her aggressive style, stepping inside the baseline, and capitalizing on her opportunities to regain control before closing out one of the biggest victories of her career. 

After lifting the Venus Rosewater Dish, Noskova smiled as she reflected on the moment. 

“It’s a dream I never even dreamed of.”

The journey to Centre Court began many years earlier in the Czech Republic.

As a child, tennis was only one of many sports she loved. Gymnastics, track and field, and horseback riding all played a role in developing the balance, movement and coordination that have become hallmarks of her game. Around the age of 10, she chose to dedicate herself fully to tennis. 

That decision was inspired by one unforgettable moment. Watching fellow Czech Petra Kvitova win Wimbledon inspired Noskova to believe she, too, could one day compete on tennis’s biggest stage.

This year’s championship carried even greater meaning. 

In 2024, shortly before Wimbledon began, Noskova’s mother passed away following an illness. It was her mother who first encouraged her to pursue sports and supported the beginning of the journey that ultimately led to Centre Court. 

Standing as Wimbledon champion two years later,Noskova thanked her family, coaches and supporters before holding back tears as she shared one final message.

"Lastly, I want to thank my mom. Without you, I wouldn't be standing here today."

Noskova's journey has also been closely intertwined with Yonex from an early stage of her career. In 2019, she participated in VAMOS•J, Yonex's junior development program, marking the beginning of a partnership that has accompanied her rise from promising junior to Grand Slam champion.  

As a young player, Noskova found inspiration in watching a Wimbledon champion from her own country. 

Now, she leaves the All England Club as a Wimbledon champion, inspiring the next generation of young players just as she was once inspired herself.
